WOW- when people say 2nd pregnancies fly- it is no joke. I finally put a ticker up on the side of the blog- I am officially 2nd tri and we had our NT scan yesterday. The u/s was great- everything looked good. I was a little nervous at first b/c Squeaks was not moving at all- but s/he was just very asleep. After about 20 minutes of the tech embarassingly jiggling my belly flab and having me flip and cough, the kiddo woke up and was zip, zip, zooming all over the ute. She had a hard time getting a picture in the beginning b/c Squeaks was curled up in the corner, then a hard time in the end b/c Squeaks was crazy all over the place. My monthly appt was last Friday. BP was good, I am down 7 lbs and showing more than I was halfway with B- it is nuts!
Brooks came with us- he woke from a nap at 11, the appt was at 1:30, and we got home at 4- the kid was an amazing tropper- he was so well behaved and I am so proud of him. He totally passed out as soon as we got home.
Some pics of Squeaks: the profile is really blurry and not that great, but the 2nd shot you can see the little hands waving in the air!
In other news- Brooks is doing pretty well. I have so many things I want to blog about, but if I did the post would be ridiculously long. A quick overview-
* He is learning at an amazing rate. Suddenly he's fitting shapes into holes, stacking blocks, will go to the basement door if you ask if he wants to go down there etc.
* Breastfeeding- it's over :(. I am super sad and cried about it, but I am also in a good place b/c he weaned himself and we were working towards it. I am very grateful that I had one last nursing session I knew would be our last- I just soaked it all up and was able to kind of have peace with ending it (and of course I cried).
* Walking- I am exhausted- he is everywhere- my days are filled with following him around
* Naps- we are shifting from 2 to 1, and this is a HUGE adjustment for me- it makes the awake time very long and as a SAHM I just don't know what to do in that huge chunk. He's prob having fun but I get bored with the same shit over and over- and well, I am kind of in a rut and some days want to put my head through a wall. I am working on coming up with more varied activities. I am dreading the winter when we are stuck inside.
* Prep for new baby- B is moving into a new room and I am having huge furniture debates- 2nd crib, toddler bed, big boy set he can use until college, etc. I have no idea what to get him. I don't wnt to waste money by buying something now he won't be able to use for years, but at the same time he isn't ready to be in a bed.
And we are car shopping- if you have a small SUV that has a 3rd row (maybe one that folds down) let me know.
So life is nuts- seriously.
And a few pics for fun from the last week or so.

Congrats!! I can't believe you are in your second tri! I am getting boy vibes. :)
I say second crib (or PNP/bassinet for the new LO). My mom said I wouldn't leave my crib until I was over 3 (there are pictures of both in my room as a kid lol).
I've heard pushing them before they're ready is no fun. I think most do it when they are potty training.
I personally think toddler beds are a waste. I don't know anyone IRL who uses them. We all just put rails up on the side. You can get foot stools too if the bed is higher in the air.
Anyways, good-luck with everyone! :)
I was going to say go for the toddler bed but after reading Barb's comment I don't know!! I really don't know anything about kids so...
I teared up a bit reading about your last nursing session. Congrats for making it as far as you did!!
I am also feeling the boy vibe :)
Can't believe you are 15 weeks, holy crap! So glad everything is going well with the baby.
I am totally with you on getting bored. Bria seems entertained and we play games and read, but seriously, there is only so much of that before I go stir crazy. And yeah, we'll see how the fall/winter/spring go when we're stuck inside!
