B's name...

I LOVE the name Brooks- I really really do. I think it is unique without being crazy, kind of preppy, and just all around a great name to grow into.
But now, 12 weeks in, I am beginning to get frustrated about it. So many people just hear Brooke, and think girl. Even my MIL keeps slipping and saying Brooke. The poor kid... did we screw him for life?. Someone asked me last weekend, so are you going to call him Brooke or Brooks? ummmm WTF? An older woman asked his name and then nodded and said oh, what's his middle name.

I still LOVE the name- that has not changed, but I hope my little boy grows to love his name too. Almost any name can be turned to the opposite gender. Carly can become Carl, Eric -- Erica, Brooks- Brook. I knew that that could be an issue going in... but i figured no matter what name you have, if kids want to pick on you, they will pick on you. but I am just so sick of people we know and are close to f'ing it up.

I love the name Brooks. It sounds distinguished yet "cool" and after seeing pictures of him, I think it totally fits.

I can tell you that people ALWAYS have an opinion on names and honestly, they should keep those opinions to themselves. Dan and I have been trying to come up with names for weeks now and everyone has a stupid opinion, makes me want to tell them to STFU :)

You and Eric did a great job with the name Brooks and I know he will grow to love it!

I don't think "Brooks" should be all that difficult for people to grasp. It fits him, it fits your family, and I think it's a great name.
