A bulleted list of Big things

***
Eric went away on a boys trip and I was alone with B for 4 days/5 nights. Now this made me realize how much he does help me. I SAH and nurse and have felt as though Eric and B get to have a lot of fun, and I get to have a lot of fun and do a lot of work in regards to B. That may sound mean- but I just mean I take care of the day to day stuff, the meals, etc, and Eric helps out by playing. I never thought he was unhelpful- I just didn't realize how helpful he was if that makes sense. Well - I was wrong and skewed- having to be alone with the baby and the dog and not have a moment to myself was a new experience and made me appreciate my husband a little more. Even though he isn't home with us all day- his presence has a big impact.

Speaking of- a belated Happy Father's Day to my honey. You are a wonderful, fantastic, loving, playful, adorable father to our son. Seeing you together gives me butterflies and makes me fall in love all over again.
Fathers Day:

We went to the mall on father's day- B loved spinning the jewelry things, I am sure the salespeople just loved him and Eric

*** Big News #1: I have a girls weekend- I am going away with some wonderful ladies and I CANNOT WAIT!!! Now this weekend is fast approaching and I realized that I still nurse B to sleep for naps, and it was time to intro him to whole milk. And so- operation nap training and weaning has begun.

*** Nap Training- I started Monday and now today (Sunday) he is a pro. I am not nursing remotely near naps now, we go in, read like 5 books, I rock him/sing for 5 minutes, and put him down fully awake. The first day was tough, it took 30 mins the first nap and he missed the 2nd nap b/c he cried almost the full hour. However today, just 6 days later, both naps took 10 minutes of happy squeals and then silence for OVER an hour and a half. YAY YAY YAY- why didn't I do this sooner! (I always put it off b/c we had here to go and this to do and I wanted him to be rested and happy).

***Weaning- I am very emotional about this. I need to have freedom and I can't pump anything, so I am working on weaning. I plan on keeping the morning and night nursing for a little, but I am cutting out the other 2 day feedings. I have to do this b/c my girls trip (whether I could pump or not, the kid has to get used to being off the boob). I also want to do this for my sanity. I am so proud of having breastfed this long, but it is time (at least to decrease). So far so good. I cut out his 2nd morning feeding, and it seems like he is cutting down on his others in response to that and a combo of getting milk. I can't lie- I am sad about this, but it is necessary.

In other big news...

Yup, that's right...

I am 6 weeks along. I wasn't going to post until after my 1st u/s, but my dr. isn't sending me in early this time like she did with B and well, I just can't keep it in. How else am I going to share stories of almost puking in the market when passing the fish aisle or complain about the horrible fatigue compounded by an active toddler who has decided he only needs 10 hrs at night, so while that is great that he sleeps that long straight, 5:30-6am is waaaaay to early for me, way to early.

So now that is out there- EDD 2/21/11. I will update as I know more- I am really really sad about the no u/s thing, but my 1st appt is 7/13 and I will talk to my dr then. I guess I am having a hard time accepting no u/s since she had me go in last time. I am debating calling (again) about an just to make sure I will have one soon- b/c they wanted to induce me with B, and if we go by LMP my EDD will be 9 days earlier than it is by O, and I don't want a pushed induction with this one if I have the same PIH b/c they don't think I know my body- getting ahead of myself, yes, but if you think about it- it kind of is a big deal.
(that is a major run on sentence/paragraph- sorry)

hope everyone is well!

Yay for everything, and congrats!!! I am so happy for you!

I know what you mean by early u/s's though. I don't have regular periods so I wanted to know how far along I was with Ryan. I was about 12 weeks when I had my first u/s (thinking I was like 9 weeks). They must've been right because I measured right on target my whole pregnancy.
