Memorial Day Weekend

What a nice holiday weekend we had! The weather was beautiful (if not a little hot). Eric, B and I had a great time spending the weekend as a family- and we have LOTS of pictures to share.


Soon enough we will be building forts around here- Brooks' new favorite spot is between the couch and chair. He takes a toy and squeezes in there and plays for a bit.

One of our favorite things to do now that it is nice out is walk to meet Eric on his way home from work. We meet at the fountain (Logan square- stupid name, it is a circle) and B loves to watch the water. This is only 5 blocks from our house. Sometimes the dog comes to walk around the fountain and play frisbee on the grass- sometimes not.



Saturday was low key. We went to the park as a family and then over a friend's house for a BBQ. As a sign of how much has changed since having a baby- we went over as a family. I left to put B to bed and Eric stayed for a while to hang out. Then Eric had a UFC PPV he wanted to watch so came home to put that on, and when he got home- I hopped in a cab and went back to the party. Here are some pics from the park

Sunday we ended up down the shore. I didn't want to go- but made some deals with Eric (he had to ask his parents to stop calling B Brooksy LOL) so I got something out of going. In the end it was nice to go b/c we had no other plans and B had a great time on the beach at the playground.

We walked to the beach to look at the water and Brooks was shrieking at the waves. It was too cold (and dirty) for him to go in- so we just took it all in.

After dinner we went back to the shore house and bathed him and put on PJ's, then hit the road so he could sleep and go straight to bed. 2 funny things happened. First, he took a shower not a bath b/c of the setup of the shore house. Eric showered with him, as we took his diaper off to hand him to Eric there was a surprise hidden that we did not see when we checked. Needless to say the 2 men had some issues in there with poop LOL. It was funny as the outsider.

Then we came home and I put B to bed. Eric walked Ming and all of a sudden I get a call asking me to come out and get the dog. It turns out that as they were walking Eric saw and 18 wheeler swipe the mirror off my parked car. He and the dog ran 3 blocks chasing the truck and caught up with it. The guy seemed nice and like he honestly had no clue- so we googled the expenses and he gave us cash. (Yes, we have his info in case something more is wrong).

On Monday we went to a BBQ at Philmont Country Club- we have gone the past 3 or 4 years- it si a good time. I think in another year or two B will enjoy it, he is just a bit too little now.
