I cannot believe Brooks is a week old (a week and a day now that I finally got around to posting this). Time has flown and he has changed so much already. Eric and I spent the early part of the week home with him, and then my mom, aka "Nana", has been here since Tuesday night and is staying until Saturday morning. It has been such a help and a sanity saver. Tuesday during the day was my first significant time alone with Brooks and I won't lie, there were tears shed by all. I think I lost it at the point he projectile peed during a diaper change and it got all over his face (and let me say, he was crying at the time so his mouth was wide open). Breastfeeding is going better each day. We are mastering the latch (unless he is super hungry and it is the right boob's turn, weird huh?). I won't lie and have to admit- I am terrified of being alone next week with him, but we will figure it out :)
Daddy bought Brooks his first sports outfit. Boston Bruins of course- it is a little big, but adorable- and made his Daddy proud.
We went for our first strolls- we have taken the dog to the park to toss around a frisbee, made it to Starbucks where the baristas have been anticipating Brooks' arrival (and I have been anticipating a return to caffeinated drinks), and to the ice cream store.
Yet we still spent most of the time lounging around the house :)
And lastly- I cannot believe that a newborn is as expressive as this little boy is. The faces he makes crack me up... check it out :)
'What up homie?'
'hmmm, let me think about it'
'this lady is crazy'
'make me'
'arrrgh matey'
'this is the life'
and my favorite!
