Happy 11 Monthday!!!

Happy 11 month birthday (on Monday- we are a little late posting because I had such a big weekend update so I was saving this one).

11 months old- it is amazing that in less than a month you will be a year old! You are becoming such a little person now and really are understanding what we say.

This months updates: I probably could go on and on- you just do sooo much now. These little updates are becoming crazy long because of the rate you are growing and learning.

At 11 months you
* say mama, bus (buh), & ball (bah) appropriately (poor Eric- you have yet to make a d sound). Oh and sometimes you say Gee (with a hard G) and I *think* you may mean Ming b/c we call her Mingy
*Understand us when we talk to you about things we say daily (if we ask where's ming you go to her, if we ask if you want to take a bath you crawl to the bathroom)
*Have 3 teeth! The top right tooth just broke through on Monday so it is barely there- but it counts. Your 4th tooth will be along any day.
*Sleep through the night!!! Or at least you did for 2 solid weeks before this tooth broke through, hopefully you go back to that.
* Growl- you seriously growl at things when you want them. If you see a box of crackers you growl, if you see your sippy, you growl, it is kind of funny.
* Get mad- if I take something away from you (like a wire, the remote, etc) you grunt, growl, and cry in anger.
* Crawl like a crazy man. If you are not moving fast enough you do this weird half regular half gorrila crawl (instead of on hands and knees you are on one hand, one knee, and your left foot). You use your foot to propel you further. It is amazing how fast you are.

* Stand using anything you can (including just the wall)
* Have just started attempting climbing steps- sometimes you get it, sometimes you give up. Baby gates are much needed!
*Walk using whatever you are holding onto. Whether this means going around the edge of the couch or pushing your little table, you are everywhere.
*Give kisses and high fives
*Stick out your tongue a lot- it is your new 'thing'.

* Do a lot of raspberries with sounds- it is more of a motorboat than a raspberry action now that I think about it.
* LOVE books- especially ones where there are flaps to lift and look at things beneath
* Your favorite places to crawl are Ming's bowls and the bright flashing lights of the entertainment equiptment downstairs. Also you like the doorstops on the upstairs doors.
* You like to feed me what you are eating and laugh like a loon when I bite it.
* You smile every time we walk down to the basement
* You have been really against eating in your high chair- I guess it is too boring. I can get more food in you if I put the food on your walker tray and you can zip around the house.
*You think running in your walker from the front door to the back door over and over again is fun (Well it is like a runway of hardwood). Watching your little legs go is funny.
* You love to go to the park with Ming and laugh/smile every time she brings back the frisbee. Even better is if we let you hold her leash and then you wave it back and forth to make the poor dog's collar jingle.
* You are always sitting in the crib when I see you- and you turn on your mobile all by yourself. When we come into the room then you stand up and start bouncing in excitement.
* You HATE getting your diaper change and flip around and cry when we try.
* You sit in the office chair and love it when Daddy spins you.
* You really pay attention to us and try to mimic-
* You have figured out lots of new tricks with toys this month because your dexterity has improved
* Play with Ming and she actually plays back with you.
*Drink from a straw sippy- you love your water
*When Daddy gets home you crawl as close to him as you can (usually you are in baby jail) Then you just shriek and shriek and shriek until he lifts you. If he doesn't pick you up (on days you are very messy and he is dressed up) you cry.
* You have suddenly become very snuggly to me, just bury your head on my shoulder and snuggle in.
* You are a little less wary of strangers and more willing to smile at them- however if they have a dog all your attention is on the dog and you get mad if not allowed to crawl towards it.

I probably could go on and on- you just do sooo much now. These little updates are becoming crazy long because of the rate you are growing and learning.

A 'typical' day in your life:
7am- wake up.
7:30 nurse
8:30 breakfast
9:15 nurse & nap
11 wake up
1 lunch
2 nurse & nap
3:30 wake up
5:30 nurse very briefly
6:15 dinner
7pm bath & bedtime routine
7:45 asleep.

When you are awake we do lots of things- read, play, go for walks, gymboree, playgroups, take the dog to the park, etc.
