So happy the weekend is over

Isn't it sad- but lately things have been so busy on weekends- that I look forward to weekdays just for a semblance of routine.

It was grandparent central over the M house this weekend. On Friday night my MIL came over for dinner as a belated mother's day celebration. I think I really annoyed her, but oh well. She was supposed to come at 5:30, called to say she would be early, and then 'fell asleep' and didn't get here until 20 after 6. I had cooked and had dinner ready and hot on the table, and it sat there cooling off for 30 minutes- I was kind of annoyed. So we ate and then played in the living room for about 10 minutes- but it was 7 o'clock and it was bathtime/bedtime. So we said thanks for coming and she was all like 'oh, you're kicking me out'. Sorry- we have a routine and I am not willing to have a screaming overtired kid b/c you were late. It may sound harsh, but even a 15 minute variation on bedtime screws this kid up. Eric was on board as well b/c he has seen what happens. So it was a short visit.

On Saturday, Eric's step-nephew got Bar Mitzvah'd. It was an extravagant black tie event- and was nice for us to have a night out. Eric went to the services while I stayed home with B. I took B with me to get a pedicure for the night and he was great. I brought snacks and books and he sat on my lap the whole time without freaking out. I was amazed- but don't want to repeat the experience if I don't have to b/c it did take a bit away from the relaxation. My parents came down in the afternoon to help out and watch B as we got ready and to babysit while we were out. I was a bit nervous about bedtime- but it went fairly well. The only hitch was he only ate 2oz out of the bedtime bottle. So he did wake up that night at 2:30am and I fed him b/c I knew there was no way he wasn't hungry. Last night he didn't get up until 6 so I am assuming the 2:30 am wakeup was a fluke due to circumstances. We did get pictures of us all dressed for the main event- we squeezed Brooks into his valentine's tuxedo pajamas so he fit in with our attire!

The favors for the party included Philly cream cheese and some bagels- Brooks really loved having one of those bagels for breakfast

Then on Sunday, because Eric's dad and stepmom had stayed overnight at the hotel the party was held at- they came by to see Brooks. They had not seen him since the end of March (a little sad b.c they live 9 miles away- but life is busy). They got to see him in a whole new light now that he is all over the place and it was a nice visit.

And some other cute pics from this week

Haircuts- guess who needs one and guess who got one?
